The first water ministry that Community Uplift collaborated with for safe drinking water was Healing Waters International back in September of 2005.
HWI launched a pilot project in the Kenyan community of Waitaluk that has since been graduated to another organization for maintaining the local water project. And though there are no further community projects identified or in the works, we are still in regular contact with HWI regarding future water related partnering opportunities. The mission of Hope2Others’ is to offer a tangible demonstration of God’s love through education and implementation of proper water, sanitation and hygiene systems.
Since its beginning, Hope2Others’ has been in active dialogue with Synergy Initiatives on how we can work together. And plans are in the works to identify opportunities within Mozambique where Lighting, Cooking and Water initiatives can be collectively offered. WMI is a nonprofit, Christian engineering organization serving the water and sanitation needs of people in developing countries and disaster areas. WMI uses low-maintenance, appropriate water technologies for drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater management, and storm water control. Their mission is to provide sustainable access to safe water and an opportunity to hear the "Living Water" message of Jesus in developing countries and disaster areas. WMI's vision is that no person should perish for want of safe drinking water or an opportunity to hear the "Living Water" message.
Synergy and WMI have been working in the same area of Kenya. As a result, there have been growing opportunities to collaborate within communities to offer a broader opportunity of community transformation. WMI has also offered significant water engineering expertise retated to the first Children of Hope children’s home in Kitalale, Kenya. The PROBLEM:
Water is one of the world's most valuable resources. Although countries may enjoy significant amounts of rain, the water may be polluted or unsafe to drink.
In many parts of Africa, less than 50% of the population has access to safe water. Lack of infrastructure and government regulation of the water supply keeps many Africans from getting clean water. As a result, millions of people die each year from water–related diseases such as cholera. And water-related diseases are the single largest killer of infants in developing countries.
Water for crops and livestock is also scarce in many parts of the continent.

From the beginning of Community Uplift Ministries, we have been looking for water groups and ministries willing to help address the safe water needs within the communities where CoL is operating.

Below is a list of ministries we are working with to help facilitate safe water opportunities where CoL is working.
