The PROBLEM:

The majority of people living in Sub-Saharan Africa profess faith in Jesus Christ and follow some form of Christian faith. Missionaries and colonialism brought Christianity to most countries south of the Sahara Desert in Africa.

The majority of people in the fourteen independent countries in North Africa are Muslim who follow the religious, social and political beliefs of Islam. Muslims pray to Allah and his prophet Muhammad five times a day while facing the city of Mecca. The Koran is the Muslim holy book.

Some people, however, still follow traditional indigenous religions, believing that spirits in nature and ancestors affect and influence the blessings and curses of everyday life.

All Nations Ministries (ANM):

ANM exists to proclaim the name and glory of God to the nations, especially to unreached and least reached peoples of the world. Each year, ANM teams travel to large cities and small villages around the world to tell of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Mike Parker, president and founder of ANM, has visited the Circle of Light programs in both Kenya and Mozambique and is eager to bring evangelism and outreach teams to CoL communities and new community launches. If you have interest in future outreach trips with ANM, contact him by going to his website. Or if you’d like to read more about ANM’s perspective of their visit to Mozambique, you can read Mike’s blog from the trip: www.gotellallnations.blogspot.com (To learn more about All Nations Ministries, click here or on the website icon)

Crown Financial Ministries (CFM):

Crown’s mission is to equip people worldwide to learn, apply, and teach God’s financial principles so they may know Christ more intimately, be free to serve Him, and help fund the Great Commission.

Community Uplift Ministries, through it’s Synergy Initiatives strategic alliance program, will be making Crown’s much anticipated “God Provides” short films available to all CoL communities once the series is made available. It is our hope that by combining the Christian Training Center, Crown’s short films and the life of Christ lived out by national believers that we’ll help disciple the rural communities toward Christ-centered maturity. Hosanna / Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH):

Faith Comes By Hearing is committed to reaching the nations with Audio Bibles, offering it in a format that connects with the world's 50% illiterate population. They have assembled committed leaders and dedicated servants to bring His church together and making disciples.

In greek, the word "nation" is ethnos, which means "of the same language and people group." It is not political borders of a country. The worldwide Bible translation and distribution ministries have determined there are 6,809 ethnos, or nations, in the world, most of which cross many political borders. FCBH is working hard to record an Audio Bible in 2,000 of these languages and start 2 million listening groups in order to reach 97% of the world's population by the year 2016.

Community Uplift Ministries, through it’s Synergy Initiatives strategic alliance program, will make FCBH’s “Proclaimer” Audio Bibles and listening groups available to all CoL communities as they are launched in Mozambique and beyond. International Christian Ministries (ICM): (CFM):

International Christian Ministries exits to serve the Church by discipling and equipping its leaders. While their focus is on pastors, they recognize the contribution of Christian leadership from every arena. Church leadership includes pastors, elders and lay leaders who are leaders in their communities. It is ICM’s belief that the impact of the Church is not simply within the four walls of a church building, but in the lives and actions of it members as they serve their local communities.

With that in mind, ICM-Kenya and Community Uplift Ministries have been intimately involved in ministering together since the inception of the Circle of Light program began in Kenya in 2002. Through this partnership, working in collaboration with other churches, ICM has established the Church Leadership Institute outreach program. Through this program, ICM has created a traveling team of teachers who offer monthly training at each of the Christian Training Center in each of the CoL communities. Renew World Outreach (RWO):

The mission of RWO is to assist missionaries and mission organizations with portable audio/visual tools to help reach the unreached nations of the world. They are a perfect compliment to the Christian Training Center at every CoL Energy Store location.

Begin in Mozambique, we are now working with RWO to provide each CTC with, not only the content media for community “Movie Night” outreaches, but the equipment to show videos on a large scale. RWO is continually adapting their technology to provide the best, most cost effective technology to reach the most remote corners of the world. (To learn more about Renew World Outreach, click here or on the website icon)

When each CoL Energy Store is launched, a Christian Training Center (CTC) building is constructed near the store. Each Christian Training Center is equipped with written, audio and video discipleship training resources, as well as the equipment necessary to present the materials. The audio and video equipment is powered by energy generated from the CoL Energy Store, either from a generator or the same type of CoL battery that is used in the CoL lighting systems.
The Center is a highly convenient community facility that is used as a classroom for Bible studies, pastoral training and Christian discipleship. Many Centers house libraries that are filled with Christian books, which can be checked out by community members. While the primary purpose of the CTC is Christian discipleship and evangelism training, the facility is also used for adult education, as well as leadership development, agricultural, health and vocational training.

Training of local Christian pastors, leadership development, and discipleship for lay persons are presently being sponsored and led throughout the communities where the CoL Energy Stores and Christian Training Centers are located.

Below is a list of ministries we are working with to help facilitate discipleship outreach opportunities where CoL is working.
