Kitalale, Kenya: During the summer of 2008, Community Uplift Ministries (CU) and Water Missions International (WMI) began an email exchange that resulted in a visit and tour of the WMI facilities in Charleston, South Carolina. Through a number of God-orchestrated paths that crossed on the other side of the world in Kitale, Kenya, it became more than clear that we were like-minded Christian organizations working in the same communities, for the same Kingdom purposes and with the same Kenyan friends. It truly is a small world after all.
Since then, WMI has become an invaluable alliance relationship. In September of 2008 we were able to overlap the ground breaking ceremony of Children of Hope and the launch of a WMI water project on the same day and within a few miles of one another.
As CU, through its Children of Hope program, prepares to launch its first children’s home in Kitalale, Kenya, WMI’s water engineering expertise has looked over all our septic and water plans. They have saved us many headaches down the road with their recommendations and advice.
We foresee many more wonderful and fruitful collaboration of resources as we move forward in Kenya and beyond.
